Cataloging Hidden Special Collections and Archives: Building a New Research Environment
The open application period for the 2012 Cataloging Hidden Special Collections and Archives program is now closed. Pending renewed funding, CLIR will begin accepting new applications in January 2013.
Libraries, archives, and cultural institutions hold millions of items that have never been adequately described. This program seeks to address this problem by awarding grants for supporting innovative, efficient description of large volumes of material of high value to scholars.
Mellon Fellowships for Dissertation Research in Original Sources
The 2012 application period for the Mellon Fellowships for Dissertation Research in Original Sources program is now closed. Information regarding the 2013 cycle will be available in September 2012.
CLIR offers about 15 fellowships annually to support original-source doctoral dissertation research in the humanities or related social sciences.
Postdoctoral Fellowship in Academic Libraries
The application period for the 2012 Postdoctoral Fellowship program is now closed. Information regarding the 2013 cycle will be available in autumn 2012.
This fellowship provides recent Ph.D. recipients a unique opportunity to develop as scholars and teachers while learning about modern librarianship, digital resources, e-publishing, archives, and collection development both digital and analog.
CLIR/DLF Data Curation Postdoctoral Fellowship
CLIR is currently accepting applications for this program. Review of applications will begin on May 1, 2012, and continue until positions are filled. We expect all positions to be filled by June 30.
The CLIR/DLF Data Curation Fellowship Program is an expansion of CLIR’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Program in Academic Libraries. CLIR/DLF Data Curation Fellowships will provide recent Ph.D.s with professional development, education, and training opportunities in data curation for the sciences and social sciences.
Rovelstad Scholarship in International Librarianship
The application period for the 2012 Rovelstad Scholarship is now closed. Details for the 2013 Scholarship will be available at the end of 2012.
This scholarship provides for a student of library and information science to attend the annual World Library and Information Congress of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA).
A. R. Zipf Fellowship
The application period for the 2012 Zipf Fellowship is now closed. Details for the 2013 Fellowship will be available at the end of 2012.
The fellowship is awarded annually to a student who is enrolled in graduate school, in the early stages of study, and who shows exceptional promise for leadership and technical achievement in information management.
Peterson Fellowship
A call for nominations for the 2012 Rick Peterson Fellowship will be issued in spring 2012.
This award recognizes an early-career IT professional or librarian who has led a collaborative effort in resolving a significant challenge in IT and digital libraries. It covers travel, lodging, and registration costs associated with the fellow’s participation in NITLE’s annual spring symposium and the DLF Forum.
