About Earth and Environmental Sciences and the Environmental Initiative: Earth and Environmental Sciences (EES) is Lehigh's home for Geosciences, Ecology, and Environmental Science. The Department has systematically developed research foci in the solid Earth and tectonics, surface processes, climate and paleoclimate, and ecosystems broadly defined.

Created to foster collaborative envrionmental research across departments and colleges at Lehigh, the Environmental Initiative brings together the core departments of Earth and Environmental Science and Civil and Environmental Engineering with individual faculty members affiliated with Social Science departments and the College of Education. The cornerstone of the initiative is the STEPS building, which opened in August 2010, and is designed to facilitate collaborative learning and eliminate boundaries between the classroom and the lab.

About Library and Technology Services: Lehigh's Library and Technology Services (LTS) delivers computing, library, media, instructional technology, faculty development, and distance education services. This collaborative environment affords a unique opportunity to experiment with sophisticated information technologies and to develop pedagogical expertise to enhance teaching, learning, and research. Lehigh is a partner institution in the Kuali OLE online library project and has recently completed a CLIR Hidden Collections grant. The Libraries engage with faculty and the community in the creation of a range of digital library projects.
