The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Libraries
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Libraries offers a two-year CLIR Postdoctoral Fellowship in Academic Libraries. The Fellow will be based in the Center for Digital Research in the Humanities (CDRH) and will be engaged in developing a long-range plan for extending the reach of CDRH. The Center for Digital Research, a joint program of the UNL Libraries and the College of Arts and Sciences, advances collaborative, interdisciplinary research by creating unique digital content and developing tools for scholarly discovery.
While the Libraries will consider applications from the broad range of humanities fields, we are particularly interested in scholars with a strong humanities background and an interest in social media and public relations. The individual will work under the guidance of the Co-Directors of the Center for Digital Research in the Humanities, and will engage with the other faculty and staff of the Center. This includes faculty with tenure homes in the Libraries, English, History, and potentially other areas of the humanities.
The Fellow will participate in national meetings with other CLIR fellows and to attend one relevant conference. In addition, the Fellow will learn about the different departments and operations of a research library, and will have access to a variety of mentors. At the end of the first year, the Fellow will have developed an understanding of many of the issues facing today’s research libraries and have learned about digital humanities centers and digital scholarship. By the end of the second year, the individual will have developed a long range plan for extending the reach of the Center.
