Fellowships in Data Curation for the Sciences and Social Sciences

Applications to host 2014-2016 Fellows in Data Curation for the Sciences and Social Sciences are being accepted now through October 1, 2013.

These two-year fellowships, partially supported by a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, provide recent Ph.D.s with professional development, education, and training opportunities in data curation for the sciences and social sciences. The fellows’ work draws upon their disciplinary expertise in order to help advance data curation practices and services at their host institutions.

Key Dates

  • August 2013: Host application period opens.
  • September 2013: Fellowship application period opens.
  • October 1, 2013: Proposal deadline for prospective hosts for 2014-2016 postdoctoral fellows. Review of host proposals begins. Hosts will be notified of their status by late October.
  • November 2013: Position descriptions to be posted on CLIR's website.
  • December 27, 2013: Individual fellowship applications due. Review of fellowship applications begins at CLIR.
  • February 2014: Fellowship applications to be forwarded to all selected host institutions.
  • June 2014: Target deadline for all 2014 postdoctoral fellowship positions to be filled.
  • July/August 2014: Introductory seminar for all 2014 postdoctoral fellows.
