Fellowships in Data Curation for the Sciences and Social Sciences

CLIR will partner with six institutions to host the 2013-2015 CLIR/DLF Postdoctoral Fellows in Data Curation for the Sciences and Social Sciences. Note that the deadline for applying to host a 2013 Fellow in Data Curation for the Sciences and Social Sciences has passed.

These two-year fellowships, partially supported by a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, provide recent Ph.D.s with professional development, education, and training opportunities in data curation for the sciences and social sciences. The fellows’ work draws upon their disciplinary expertise in order to help advance data curation practices and services at their host institutions.

Key Dates

October 1, 2012: Proposal deadline for prospective hosts for 2013-2015 postdoctoral fellows. Review of host proposals begins.
October 2012: Fellowship application period opens.
November 1, 2012: Selected hosts for 2013-2015 fellows to be notified of their acceptance. Job descriptions to be posted on CLIR's website.
January 1, 2013: Review of fellowship applications begins at CLIR.
February 2013: Fellowship applications to be forwarded to all selected host institutions.
June 2013: Target deadline for all 2013 postdoctoral fellowship positions to be filled.
July 2013: Introductory seminar for all 2013 postdoctoral fellows.
