Leading the Charge in Digital Expansion: Martin R. Kalfatovic
Martin R. Kalfatovic joins CLIR as the new Managing Director of the IIIF Consortium, bringing over two decades of leadership at Smithsonian Libraries and Archives (SLA). Having spearheaded the global digitization efforts of the Biodiversity Heritage Library (BHL), Martin is well-versed in leveraging technology to provide access to 600 years of scientific history. His mission at IIIF-C is to enhance the user experience of digital objects and expand the use of IIIF standards across a variety of formats, from images to 3D objects. Martin’s extensive experience, paired with his fondness for dodos, is sure to breathe fresh energy into CLIR’s digital initiatives.
