CLIR congratulates Jenny Ferretti on her move to administer the Texas After Violence Project, which we support as foundational to the enrichment of our national narrative and a continuation of the core principles of the Digital Library Federation. While we are sorry to lose Jenny, this transition represents an elegant continuum: her exceptional leadership during the last several years has positioned DLF as a trusted platform for new ideas, emerging technologies, and community building in service to the public good.
Following Jenny’s move, CLIR is undertaking a search for the next director of DLF. I am pleased to announce that Wayne Graham, our CIO and Director of Informatics and Cultural Networks, is the interim director of DLF. Wayne will manage the transition period over the next several months, which will comprise outreach to working group leaders, DLF members, national thought leaders, and friends of the Federation. These conversations will help frame our criteria for the qualities and characteristics that you believe are essential for the next Director, ensuring the continued vitality and influence of the Digital Library Federation.
In advance, thank you for your ideas, insights, recommendations, and good will. What a gratifying opportunity to build upon such strength.
Charles Henry, Ph.D.
